I saw her dancing in the crowd, with
some pretty beads
around her waist;
quite a sexy waist,
I must say.
She swayed this
way and that, moving
along to the rhythm
of the music with
Oh my, never have I
seen a body portray
such mighty poetry.
We once called them wise men, duffing our caps, giving them
all the respect we’ve got, only
for them to begin doing things
only foolish men would do,
making fools out of us.
Listen dear,I have once lived a life as such;
pushing everyone away,
preventing love from creeping in,
blaming love for my falls,
never seeing the bigger picture.
And if there was anything I learnt from it,
it is, to never live a life as such
Come, let’s undress our souls
and expose the demons that
lurk in there.
Your Love is quite fremd;it places me at sixes and sevens
It is of such a great rarity;
there is none of its kind.
it can’t be left unappreciated.
one can’t help but be awed.
Your Love is love in it’s truest form.
It is one helluva of an honour
to be under the grace of such.
Don’t ask me to fix you,
I am broken too.
Let’s just love each other
as broken as we are.
That way, we might become whole.
”I love you”;
these are very beautiful words,
yet, they don’t sound as such,
when uttered from your mouth
To still be given breath,
despite having the right
to pronounce me dead.
To be forgiven effortlessly,
irrespective of my humongous wrongs.
To keep your arms ever outstretched,
ready to embrace me as yours,
whenever I come seeking your face.
To be loved this much,
my Dear Lord,
still shakes me to the core!
I love you,
I love you,
I love you.
Many a time would he utter these words,
in his most soothing, alluring voice.
But, all he sounded like was a silly, broken record;
for he was more ‘say’ than ‘do’.
Never get so used to a lie that it begins to become your truth, in such a way that even when the truth presents itself clearly, you are still quite blinded, or rather, imprisoned by that lie you are unwilling to let go. This could probably be because you can’t imagine how your life would be without that lie in your life- a lie you’ve gotten extremely accustomed to, to forfeit easily.
But really, no lie is worth living. The truth, no matter how unfriendly, no matter how late it decides to surface, is actually what you need in your life, to live as you should. Embrace truth and let it set you free from the lie you’ve been imprisoned.
